Eisenstadt (OTS) – This year, the ORF Burgenland literary competition “Textfunken” is looking for texts that revolve around peace. We are looking for exciting literature, fictional stories or stories inspired by life. It doesn’t matter whether they play next door or in the “palaces of power”.
The longing for peace spans the entire world. From the great desire, the absence of war, to harmonious coexistence in everyday life to inner peace. Satisfying this longing is an overwhelming challenge, not only at the political level, but also in the personal environment. We are surrounded by delicate situations, such as visiting relatives at Christmas, unbridled comments on social media or loose tongues at the regulars’ table.
All people who come from Burgenland or live in Burgenland are allowed to submit. The texts must be unpublished. The submitted manuscripts are submitted anonymously to a jury of experts.
Two categories: Jury Prize and Audience Prize:
The winning text will be presented by a professional voice and broadcast on the radio. The winner will receive an author’s fee of 500 euros. You can also win book vouchers from Knotzer in Mattersburg.
Aside from the jury’s prize, the finalists still have the chance to win the audience prize. This will be determined via an online vote at burgenland.orf.at.
The finalists will be presented and the winners will be chosen in a “radio salon” in the ORF broadcasting center in Eisenstadt.
The deadline for entries for Textfunken 2024 is September 30, 2024.
