19th district: Construction of a cycling facility in the section of Krottenbachstraße | City vienna

Vienna (OTS) On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, the City of Vienna – Road Administration and Road Construction will begin the construction of a structurally separate two-way cycle path on Krottenbachstrasse in the section between Flotowgasse and Börnergasse.

Details

On Krottenbachstrasse in the section between Flotowgasse and Börnergasse, a new, structurally separated two-way cycle path, approximately 850 meters long and up to 3 meters wide, is being built on the side of the even house numbers. The sections between Cottagegasse and Flotowgasse and between Börnergasse and Felix-Dahn-Straße were built last year. After completion of the middle section, a continuous cycling infrastructure of around 1.5 kilometers in length will be available. To increase traffic safety, sidewalk extensions and roadway elevations will be made on the streets leading into Krottenbachstrasse (Flotowgasse, Budinskygasse, Sollingergasse, Görgengasse and Kratzlgasse). The location of the bus stops on line 35A will be slightly adjusted and will be located in front of the intersections in the future. This creates better visibility between the bus, drivers and pedestrians.

Traffic measures

The construction work on Krottenbachstrasse takes place mainly during the day. For vehicle traffic, Krottenbachstrasse from Börnergasse to and towards Flotowgasse will be a temporary one-way route. The diversion towards the city is via Flotowgasse, Hutweidengasse and Börnergasse. The one-way lane in Hutweidengasse will be reversed accordingly.

In Sailäckergasse from Rodlergasse to and towards Flotowgasse the one-way route will be temporarily reversed. In order to raise the road and extend the sidewalks on Krottenbachstrasse, the streets leading into it will become temporary dead ends. Foot traffic will be maintained.

Replacement stops will be built for bus lines 35A and N35 in the direction of Salmannsdorf:
