Clarification results clear warning to the population about Kickl-FPÖ – there is still a need for information about Kickl investments in companies and properties
Vienna (OTS) – “The Kickl system and the blue abuse of power have been ruthlessly unmasked through the educational work in the ‘Red-Blue Abuse of Power’ U-Committee,” explains Andreas Hanger, ÖVP faction leader in the investigative committees, at today’s debate on the U-Committee’s final report . It is astonishing “what dimensions have opened up here,” said the People’s Party representative.
Hanger also refers to the “six dimensions of blue abuse of power”. These would be in the areas of media policy – see the allocation of advertisements to right-wing media and pressure on editors there -, personnel decisions – for example with blue job haggling in the Kickl-run BMI -, party support – the financial scandal of the Freedom Party in Graz and Styria is after all the biggest Second Republic -, proximity to Russia – keyword friendship agreement between Putin’s “United Russia” party and the FPÖ -, the threat to Austria’s security – through the dismantling of the BVT and the plan to put Egisto Ott, who was suspected of spying on Russia, in a new Austrian secret service to install – and finally the secret or hidden company holdings of FPÖ boss Kickl – such as the idea factory Werbeagentur GmbH (later Signs GmbH).
There is still a need for clarification, especially when it comes to the investments mentioned – “especially when it comes to the ominous and allegedly verbally terminated trust agreement surrounding the agency and possible profit distributions to Kickl,” says Hanger. This also shows that it was right to focus on the “blue” part of the “Red-Blue Abuse of Power” investigative committee. It was a short committee; there was simply not enough time for the part concerning the SPÖ. Hanger emphasizes: “The investigative committee has clearly shown that this FPÖ is not capable of governing. The results of the investigation are therefore a clear warning to the population about the Kickl-FPÖ.”
Regarding the “COFAG” investigative committee, Hanger emphasizes that “Austria got through the Corona crisis excellently.” COFAG made an important contribution, “and there was no case where anyone received money without authorization.”
Finally, the ÖVP parliamentary group leader in the investigative committee says: “Special thanks to the team in the ÖVP club, to the parliamentary management as well as the procedural judge and the procedural lawyer. They all made a professional process and effective educational work possible.” (Ending)
