Vienna (OTS) At the 121st Upper Austrian Ball on June 22, 2024 in Vienna City Hall, Upper Austria once again presented itself from its most beautiful side. “It was a celebration of togetherness, confidence and conviviality – with unique culture, music and cuisine,” emphasized Governor Thomas Stelzer, patron of the Upper Austrian Ball. This year’s ball was also dedicated to the 200th birthday of Anton Bruckner and the European Capital of Culture Salzkammergut.

Around 3,000 guests gathered at the Vienna City Hall on Saturday evening to dance, chat and celebrate their homeland together. “We were able to celebrate Upper Austria with its four districts and all its communities and regions together. The Upper Austrian Ball also shows what Upper Austria means for the republic and what the cooperation of all countries in Austria generally means: We pitch in, we help together,” said State Governor Mag. Thomas Stelzer. “The Upper Austrian Ball in Vienna is the focal point for everyone who feels connected to our country, a celebration of the Upper Austrian Way of Life.” Already at the opening it became clear that this year a lot revolves around Anton Bruckner and the European Capital of Culture Salzkammergut: The St. Florian Boys’ Choir and the Linz artist collective “SILK Fluegge” interpreted under the motto “And I want to dance with Anton… “ Anton Bruckner new.

For Günther Mayrleitner, chairman of the Association of Upper Austrians in Vienna, the ball was “a brilliant celebration, an expression of the Upper Austrian joy of life and energy. This unforgettable ball night was once again an ideal platform for networking, encounters and exchange.” And the host and mayor of Vienna, Michael Ludwig, added: “I am very pleased that more than 75,000 Upper Austrians live in Vienna. This makes Vienna the second largest city in Upper Austria.”

But many Upper Austrians also came to Vienna that evening: In addition to LH Stelzer, LH Deputy Christine Haberlander and the regional councilor Dr. Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer and Markus Achleitner don’t miss the festival.
