“His work was always in the service of the greater whole.”
St. Pölten (OTS/NLK) – “Ludwig Adamovich was a brilliant lawyer who always put his work in the service of the greater whole,” said State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner today, Sunday, on the death of the former President of the Constitutional Court, Ludwig Adamovich.
“With his extensive knowledge and great experience, he was an indispensable warning and guide that the republic will miss,” said the state governor. “His competence, his foresight, his sense of responsibility and his feeling for the bigger picture made him stand out,” says Mikl-Leitner, who further emphasizes: “He was the conscience of the republic and made historic contributions to the constitutional state.” During his life, Adamovich also felt “closely connected to the state of Lower Austria,” said the state governor.
After completing his law studies in Vienna, Ludwig Adamovich began his professional career in the administrative service of the state of Lower Austria. He was President of the Constitutional Court for a total of 19 years, from 1984 to 2002. From 2013 to 2017 he chaired the Independent Party Transparency Senate. Adamovich was also a recipient of the “Golden Commander’s Cross with the Star of the Decoration for Services to the Federal State of Lower Austria”.
