Increasing funding for inclusive labor market projects and strengthening the participation of people with disabilities is encouraging
Vienna (OTS) – Towards the end of the current legislative period, the government parties introduced a package of measures in parliament which, in addition to increasing the support fund for people with disabilities by 14 million euros for inclusive projects for labor market integration (to a total of 50 million euros), also contains measures that are intended to strengthen participation and on the one hand on the other hand, should bring specific improvements and simplifications for people with disabilities.

Also included in the package of measures: the reorganization of committees such as the Federal Advisory Council for the Disabled and the legal anchoring of the Austrian Council for the Disabled and the enablement of the establishment of regional offices by the Advocate for the Disabled. “The ÖZIV Federal Association sees the strengthening of co-determination opportunities as a positive step so that the rights of people with disabilities are given appropriate importance. We are pleased and hope that people with disabilities in the federal states will be able to use the services of the disability advocate more easily in the regional offices in the future.
