At the same time, the mental health of employees is becoming more and more important – both for employees and employers. The focus on balancing and integrating work and private life as well as the importance of meaningful work are increasing.

Absolute customer focus is at the heart of everything we do. Employees are crucial to the company’s sustainable success and we want to know even better what employees will expect from us in the future. By balancing professional and private requirements, we want to create a sustainable and productive working environment in order to achieve our corporate goals,“ Martin Hauer, board member of Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien, draws the conclusion from the focus group report. Flexibility requires strength from employers and employees

Current developments in working life represent employers and…
Employees: facing new challenges: Aspects such as the primary functions of offices and office infrastructures, an ever-increasing intertwining of private and professional life, integration into culture and teams, etc. must be redeveloped or remain guaranteed. At the same time, it is important to maintain the balance between work and private life and to adapt organizational structures to the new flexibility. The current trends require full concentration and attention on the part of employers and employees in order to shape potential and solutions and support people’s well-being. “In our LifeBalanceCenter, our initiative for company health promotion, we attach great importance to looking at every person as a whole. For example, we organize a health day for our employees in October or offer lectures on the topic of mental health in the branches as preventive measures“, reports Elke Berger.

Contemporary: Mental health as a holistic focus

The report shows that the solutions currently need to be designed in the area of organizational structure, the issue of compatibility and new role models as well as in corporate culture processes. A holistic view of people helps to transform challenges into potential and to positively shape current change. Opportunities lie in the professional design of flexible working models through to the targeted support of families and the associated further development of the corporate culture. “The focus on mental health is THE exciting change of perspective that is in tune with the times, which holistically encompasses the multitude of topics relating to harmony between private and professional life and is therefore a key factor in helping to shape change.”summarize Monica Rintersbacher and Elke Berger.
