New sidewalk in Gaiselberg along the L 3038 state road increases traffic safety

Construction work will be completed at the end of July

St. Pölten (OTS) In the cadastral community of Gaiselberg in the municipality of Zistersdorf, a new sidewalk is being built for pedestrians along the state road L 3038. The work is being carried out by the Zistersdorf road maintenance department in collaboration with construction companies from the region, some of which are closed on one side. Completion is expected at the end of July. The total construction costs amount to around 75,000 euros, of which around 45,000 euros are borne by the state of Lower Austria and 30,000 euros by the municipality of Zistersdorf.

Along the L 3038 in Gaiselberg there was no demarcation between the state road and pedestrians. Furthermore, a new settlement area was recently created at the eastern end of Gaiselberg. For these reasons, the state of Lower Austria and the municipality of Zistersdorf have decided to build a continuous sidewalk and thus significantly increase traffic safety. Over a length of around 120 meters, an approximately 1.5 meter wide continuous sidewalk will now be arranged on the north side of the state road L 3038, 200 meters east of the intersection of the L 16 and the L 3038 to the new settlement area at the eastern end of Gaiselberg.
