Vienna (OTS) – Vice Chancellor and Minister of Culture Werner Kogler and Secretary of State for Art and Culture Andrea Mayer congratulate the winners of the Austrian Film Prize, which was awarded this evening in Vienna.
„The local film is regularly invited to festivals internationally and is repeatedly awarded prizes. Evenings like today are important moments: together we celebrate Austrian film and the great people who make its success,” said Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler on the occasion of his visit to the Austrian Film Awards ceremony. “We have taken a lot of political steps to create fair conditions for everyone working in the film industry and to ensure respectful and non-violent coexistence. The federal government has also created an extremely successful incentive model worth millions, thereby sustainably strengthening Austria as a film location. I would like to thank all artists for their contributions to the total work of art of Austrian film.”
“I would like to warmly congratulate all of this evening’s winners and nominees and thank you for the great, creative and thrilling works that the Austrian film industry created again last year. The two most awarded films, ‘Des Teufels Bad’ and ‘Rickerl – Music is at most a hobby’, are symbolic of the diversity of Austrian filmmaking.” said Art and Culture State Secretary Andrea Mayer. “These film works of art invite us to take on new perspectives, to broaden our perspective, but sometimes also to laugh or cry. Austrian film is and remains an endless success story.”
