Land & forestry companies support VISION 2028+ for rural areas!

‘The challenges of domestic land management are numerous. Consumers are placing increasing demands on family farms, and increasing bureaucracy and the effects of climate change must also be dealt with. VISION 2028+ now presents a wide range of options for actively working on the challenges and designing sustainable land management. As agricultural and forestry companies, we welcome the fact that local agriculture is supported in this way in securing a sustainable livelihood!”

Konrad Mylius, President of Land & Forestry Companies Austria

Vienna (OTS) The future of land management is currently being discussed in many ways. With VISION 2028+, Federal Minister Totschnig has now presented a package of measures for sustainable agriculture. The Land&Forst companies were involved in the strategy process and support the result presented today.

In an extensive participation process, VISION 2028+ was developed in three phases and with the participation of 3,000 people over the last few months. The aim was to create a model for the future of Austrian agriculture. As a result, Federal Minister Norbert Totschnig today presented VISION 2028+ with seven fields of action and 170 measures, which are intended to serve as a basis for the future of rural areas.

The land and forestry companies also took part in the development process of VISION 2028+ and support the cornerstones defined therein. President of Land & Forest Companies Konrad Mylius emphasizes: ‘‘The challenges of domestic land management are numerous. Consumers are placing increasing demands on family farms, and increasing bureaucracy and the effects of climate change must also be managed. VISION 2028+ now presents a wide range of options for actively working on the challenges and designing sustainable land management. As agricultural and forestry companies, we welcome the fact that local agriculture is supported in this way in securing a sustainable livelihood!”

For the agricultural and forestry companies, provision for the next generations and maintaining the operational basis are central concerns. Climate change in particular represents a major threat to biological diversity and the sustainable use of natural resources. It is therefore all the more welcome that VISION 2028+ also defines the topics of climate and environmental protection and digitalization as essential fields of action. The goals set in VISION 2028+ in these areas strengthen practical solutions. It is essential that the defined approaches are now implemented!
