“Agriculture Week” on ORF Radio Carinthia

Vienna (OTS) For the eleventh time, ORF Radio Kärnten is dedicating an entire radio week to local agriculture. From Monday, May 27th to Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, Radio Kärnten will broadcast live from farms across the country.

“Our agriculture – guarantee for a Carinthia worth living in” is the motto of this year’s “Agriculture Week”. The topics are extremely current and also dominate the headlines:

— Alpine farming and organic farming — Domestic livestock farming, laboratory meat, animal welfare and climate protection — Crop production – security of supply and soil protection — Forestry and energy – value creation from the local forest — Dairy farming on World Milk Day — Regional local food

The challenges for local farmers and food producers are greater than ever. How all these difficulties are dealt with and what the opportunities are for regional producers is what all of Radio Kärnten’s programs will be about for a whole week.

More than 120 interviews and four evening discussions with 20 farmers and experts from the agricultural and food industries form the basis for a wide range of information for the local population and for consumers of valuable and regionally produced food and raw materials.

The ORF Radio Carinthia team with Marco Ventre, Martin Furian, Arnulf Prasch and Martin Weberhofer will be reporting from another farm in the country every day next week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The start takes place on Monday in Würmlach im Gailtal, on Tuesday there is a stop in Heiligenblut, on Wednesday in Völkermarkt, on Thursday the broadcasts come from Feldkirchen, on Friday from Bad Kleinkirchheim, on Saturday Radio Kärnten reports from St. Andrä im Lavanttal and on Pisweg concludes on Sunday. There is a total of 45 hours of live program, with around 150 guests having their say.

“With the extensive reporting on Agriculture Week, ORF Carinthia is focusing on the work and passion that is lived in family farms. We look behind the scenes with the aim of further promoting awareness of regional products and the Carinthian population’s appreciation for agriculture,” says state director Karin Bernhard.
