Vienna in wine fever – VieVinum 2024 is open!

Vienna (OTS) On the first day of Austria’s International Wine Festival, wine experts and wine lovers from 58 nations gathered at HOFBURG Vienna to taste the best wines in Austria and beyond. At the opening, Federal Minister Norbert Totschnigg and numerous guests of honor honored the event, which is often described as the most beautiful wine fair in the world.

Until tomorrow, Monday, Vienna is the capital of good wine. In a celebratory ceremony, Federal Minister Norbert Totschnigg recognized the achievements of the Austrian winemakers, whose first-class wines are causing enthusiasm around the world. International wineries are also on site, with this year’s guest country Greece as a highlight. “Wine connects history, culture and social interaction,” said Georgios Iliopoulos, Ambassador of Greece and representative of the host country Greece, in his speech.

Famous, promising and focused

In the magnificent ambience of HOFBURG Vienna, visitors to VieVinum can taste the best wines from all of Austria’s wine-growing regions, including the names of the most famous wineries and just as many insider tips and newcomers that are waiting to be discovered. Youth’s look into the future

The young generation of winemakers also receives a big stage. 13 promising young talents from the Gerd A. Hoffmann Academy, a VieVinum cross-mentoring program, will organize a commented tasting in which they will present the wines that they consider to be groundbreaking for their future in viticulture (Sunday, May 26th, 14th). :30 p.m.).

To ensure the physical well-being of exhibitors and visitors, food trucks are available in front of HOFBURG Vienna, whose diverse culinary offerings range from typical Viennese “street food” to fine, internationally inspired bites.

If you don’t have a ticket for Sunday & Monday, you can purchase one at the box office. VieVinum is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and for trade visitors from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
