Vienna (OTS) TEDx (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is a global format that brings inspiring talks on new ideas to the world – today (Sunday) for the 6th time at the TU Vienna. Around 400 guests experienced twelve speakers and three top performances in the dome hall under the title “Uncharted – Navigating the Frontiers of Knowledge”.
Kristina spoke in the first part in the morning Pakhomchik über “Preserving our humanity at the frontier of knowledge and technology”, und Martin Giesswein about “How Digital Humanism will save Our World”. Giesswein referred to his current book and the website www.ai2040.org and emphasized: “Anyone can easily become a co-author in our humanistic AI future!” This was followed by the talk by TU professor Sabine Thank you entitled “Design Challenges for Trustworthy AI”. She called on everyone to support the EU’s AI Act and emphasized on Human Rights Day: “AI regulation in the EU is just a first step. Fundamental rights are universal, so global rules are needed. Let’s work together to achieve this!” This was followed by Aleodor’s talk Tabarcea über “The Technological Renaissance of Humanity”.

After the lunch break there were talks from Aleix Comas Lives (Ass.-Prof. at TU Wien) on the topic “Modeling Everything and Fuels From Air” and Verena Ringler about “Why we need a civic CERN! – Non-tech superintelligence for the planet” continued. The Europe expert emphasized: “With similar ambition as in quantum research, we need bundled social and applied democratic policy research in order to realize the climate change.” This was followed by Philip Horner on the topic “Who is responsible for tomorrow?” and Kosima Journal über ”Seen and heard in a sea of blue suits”.

The last session again included four talks: Ana Simic started about AI on “How you can share your superpower with everyone” and appealed for more AI literacy: “Everyone who already has knowledge and experience with AI should actively share it and take others with them.” Stefan Kreihsler spoke about “Our story behind data success”, followed by Julia Kruslin zu “This piece of knowledge will pay you the best interest”. Thomas Urbanek concluded with “Getting comfortable with discomfort”. His advice: “Keep going beyond your comfort zone; with so-called microsucks, i.e. small things that are difficult for you in everyday life. And take advantage of the learning opportunities that arise from this! “

This year there is a five-person team behind TEDxTUWien led by the organizers Fabian Holly and Reinhard Grabler, supported by around 10 volunteers on the day of the event. Marcus Orlovsky and Victor Furrier led through the day. Artistic performances came from Helmut Rhode, COLD WIEN and Hayden Arp.
