Vienna/Linz (OTS) – In the beer country of Austria, the density of recognized beer professionals is the highest in the world – and the trend continues to rise. Now it’s time to identify the best among Austria’s sommeliers and beer sommeliers. The 6th Austrian Beer Sommelier National Championship takes place on 31. May 2024 took place in Linz under the patronage of the Association of Austrian Breweries.
The local breweries are calling on all sommeliers and beer sommeliers with Austrian citizenship or Austrian primary residence to take part in the 6th Austrian Beer Sommelier National Championship. As part of a beer competition in several modules and the public final in front of a top-class jury and a beer-loving audience as part of the ABC Austrian Beer Challenge, organized by Doemens eV with the non-material support of the Association of Diploma Beer Sommeliers, not only the best in the country, but also… The fixed starters for Austria at the World Beer Sommelier Championships 2025 will also be determined.
The current beer sommelier national champion is Felix Schiffner (2021), also the current beer sommelier vice world champion (2022) and son of Karl Schiffner, the first beer sommelier world champion ever (2009).

The number of participants in the 6th Beer Sommelier National Championship is limited. Registrations will therefore be considered in the order in which they arrive.
