The Austrian beekeeping world looks forward to the 55th conference and the beekeeping trade fair of the Austrian employment beekeeper association, which will take place from Friday, February 14th to Sunday, February 16, 2025. With around 3,500 expected visitors, this event is a fixed point on the beekeepers’ calendars: inside and is one of the most important beekeeping meals in Europe.
Visitors: Inside, an extensive trade fair with over 110 exhibitors from all over Europe can look forward to exciting lectures by renowned experts: inside and interactive workshops. The event is not only a platform for knowledge transfer, but also a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and network within the beekeeping industry.
Program focus:
Our focus on marketing and business optimization runs through the event like a thread this year. New marketing strategies must be countered by the stagnating honey sales. The marketing of the beekeeping products is also a topic.
A panel discussion on the subject of “Working beekeeping in the area of tension between production costs and honey market” also takes place as part of the specialist conference. Under the moderation of media expert Claudia Schanza, representatives of the beekeeping organizations, such as Bernhard Heuvel (EPBA), Economic Attorney Ernst Brandl, Michael Traugott, the head of the DNA laboratory Sinsoma, and an affected beekeeper. The aim is to shed light on the challenges and perspectives of the industry. The threat of invasive species, such as the Asian hornet and the tropilaela mite, are further concerns of the beekeeping industry. Linde Morawetz (AGES) informs about the current state of knowledge and a crisis plan for Austria in a specialist lecture. Bianca Duventäster, specialist advisor from Germany, complements the program with practical insights to combat Asian hornets.
