Egmont Ehapa Media brings the legendary cult magazine “YPS – with Gimmick” back to the kiosk on September 4, 2025 – and in a double pack! Edition 1284 offers two booklets: The first takes you back to the 70s and 80s – in the era of primeval crabs, Solarzeppelin & Co. series, films, comics, radio plays – we celebrate the pop culture of our childhood! The second issue comes like that: with comics, ÜPS humor and everything you need to know about the cult gimmick-the surprise that YPS made immortal! This issue is a decision finder, a darts with magnetic arrows.
Prominent YPS fans remember: Michael “Bully” Herbig, Michael Holtschulte, Oliver Kalkofe and Dr. Mark Benecke talk about her relationship to the cult magazine and her personal experiences with the Gimmicks and the zeitgeist of the 70s and 80s when YPS experienced his heyday. Europe radio play icon Heikedine Körting and “The Drei ???”-Spokesman Oliver Rohrbeck tell of the golden age of the radio play cassette and Yps focal Hannelore Müller-Scherz talks about the time of the magazine and creation of the famous kangaroo.
In a classic YPS magazine, as fans know it from her childhood and youth, in addition to jokes, puzzles and handicraft fun, the comics are of course not neglected. The YPS editorial team has put together a colorful Potpourri here: There is a reunion with “Yps, Kaspar, Patsch and Willy”, the “Yps TV team Yinni + Yan”, “Pif and Hercules” and of course “Ben’s band”.
