AK NÖ President Wieser: “We help parents and young people make the right career and school choice.” 74 exhibitors, 60 of which were schools and companies, provided information at the VAZ St. Pölten.
St. Pölten (OTS) – School? Teach? What now? Many young people face this challenge. This makes it all the more important to find out about the wide range of training opportunities, try out careers and gain insights into the working world of the future. Numerous students were able to do this again this year at the large career information fair “Zukunft | work | Life” of the AK Niederösterreich. “The demand for well-trained specialists is unbroken and the need for information among young people and parents is particularly great. Our trade fair brings them closer to the variety of careers and further education opportunities at school. It is particularly important to us that the personal strengths and talents of the Leading children and young people to the right training,” says AK Lower Austria President and ÖGB Lower Austria Chairman Markus Wieser, who visited the trade fair on the public day with Mayor Mag. Matthias Stadler.
Around 3,500 students 1Over the past four days, 40 school classes from Lower Austria visited the career orientation fair, which took place in St. Pölten for the 14th time this year. Despite the massive onset of winter, 950 young people and their parents found their way to the VAZ St. Pölten and found out about training opportunities.
Zwtl: Focus on digitalization
3D printing, virtual reality and robots – today’s young people will work in almost every profession in the future in a rapidly changing digital work environment. In the world of digitalization, visitors were able to familiarize themselves with the latest trends in the world of work 4.0. “Digitalization is changing the professional world, traditional job profiles are changing and new jobs are emerging,” says AK Niederösterreich President Wieser.
Currently: 74 exhibitors & free application training
The young people were able to find out more about 74 exhibitors in St. Pölten. 60 schools and companies from the region as well as youth unions, specialist unions, institutions such as the AMS NÖ, the WK NÖ, the BFI NÖ and the police were happy about the interested visitors. A special highlight of the public day was the free application coaching. Experts and coaches gave tips for the interview, the application and the right outfit and styling. “The young people can practice job interviews in a highly professional manner and thus come an important step closer to their dream job,” emphasizes AK Lower Austria director Mag. Bettina Heise.
Twtl.: Trade fair annually at two locations: around 10,000 visitors per year
The career information fair “Future I Work I Life” takes place annually in Bad Vöslau and St. Pölten and is one of the largest events of its kind in Lower Austria. Around two thirds of compulsory school leavers in a year use the fair to obtain information.
