The 33rd Vienna New Year’s Eve Trail has started: Since 2 p.m., the Freyung, Am Hof, Graben, Stephansplatz, Kärntner Straße and Neuer Markt stages have been attracting visitors with a free program across all genres. The locations Wintermarkt am Riesenradplatz in the Prater and Rathausplatz – the largest of the eight stages – start the program at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. respectively.
At the start of the major event, Mayor Michael Ludwig visited the operations and security center of the Vienna New Year’s Eve Trail in the city center in the early afternoon. From here, the organizer, stadt wien marketing gmbh, coordinates the events of one of the largest New Year’s Eve celebrations in Europe, in close cooperation with blue light organizations and all relevant authorities.
“I would like to thank all the organizer’s employees, the security forces and all members of the emergency services organizations as well as the authorities involved. Through their tireless efforts, they make a significant contribution to ensuring that Vienna is not only one of the most livable cities in the world, but also one of the safest – this is particularly important on New Year’s Eve.”
said Mayor Michael Ludwig during his visit.
Visitors have the opportunity to experience more than 100 hours of program with free admission until 2 a.m
