3. KV round electrical and electronics industry with no result: unions angry with employers’ offerings
Vienna (OTS) –

The third collective agreement negotiation for the approximately 60,000 employees of the electrical and electronics industry (EEI) was interrupted on April 30. The inflation rate relevant to the negotiations is 2.76 percent. After three rounds, employers for wage and salary increases are only one percent.

This disrespectful offer is angered by the Pro-Ge and GPA unions. “There is always enough money for manager bonuses and dividend payments. But the employees should not even get a balance of inflation. We will not allow that. Wage dumping does not strengthen the business location and does not help the economy. (GPA).

The works councils will therefore decide on May 7th at an Austrian -wide conference in Schwechat (Lower Austria). “The offer is a disrespectful degradation of the hard work of employees. The signs are therefore no longer excluded from the conflict and trade union measures,” say Binder and Dürtscher.

The new collective agreement should already apply on May 1st. The next negotiation date was agreed for May 9th. The unions continue to demand fair wage and salary increases based on the relevant inflation rate. Furthermore, the allowance for the second layer should increase to 1.50 euros per hour and for the third layer to five euros per hour. The easier accessibility of the sixth holiday week should also be made possible. In addition, the continuation of the leisure option is to be secured.
