Easy growth in March 2025 due to the later Easter travel traffic this year: Passenger volume rose by 4.1% of the previous year to 2,993,138 travelers in the group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport and Airport Kosice) and at the Vienna site by 0.9% to 2,227,037 travelers. In contrast to March of the previous year, the travel -like Easter holidays will fall into April this year.
At the Vienna location, the number of local passengers rose slightly compared to March 2024 to 1,772.157 (+0.1%) and those of the transfer passengers to 449.134 (+4.3%) travelers. The flight movements increased to 17,839 starts and landings (+7.7%). The freight volume increased by 9.5% to 28,507 tons compared to March 2024.
Details on the passenger volume
In March 2025, the passenger volume at Vienna Airport to Western Europe went back to 751,408 travelers (-1.3% compared to the previous year). A total of 169,532 passengers traveled to Eastern Europe (+0.8%). According to North America, Airport recorded 29,009 travelers (+6.8%) and after Africa 28,267 (-4.5%). A total of 68,780 (-6.8%) and 47,355 passengers (+19.3%) traveled to the Middle East.
The airport-Vienna participations continue to develop very well: In March 2025, the Malta Airport recorded a total of 725,134 passengers (+14.4%). At Kosice Airport, the passenger volume increased significantly to 40,967 travelers (+17.1%).
Cumulative passenger volume January until March 2025: +1.8% in Vienna and +4.6% in the FWAG group
From January to March 2025, passenger volume at Vienna Airport increased by 1.8% to 6.018.204 passengers compared to the previous year. The freight volume rose by 7.7% to 73,280 tons. Throughout the airport Vienna Group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport and Airport Kosice), the number of passengers increased by 4.6% to 7,929,294 travelers during this period.
