The number of passengers at Vienna Airport also increased in the first month of 2025: In January 2025, passenger volume increased by 4.8% to 2,436,351 travelers in the group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport and Airport Kosice) and 3 , 4% to 1,890,102 travelers at the Vienna location.
At the Vienna location, the number of local passengers increased compared to January 2024 to 1,542,649 (+6.1%) and those of the transfer passengers decreased to 340,378 travelers (-7.2%). The flight movements increased to 15,778 starts and landings (+4.0%). The freight volume increased by 3.1% to 21,541 tons compared to January 2024.
Details on the passenger volume
In January 2025, the passenger volume at Vienna Airport rose to Western Europe to 636,267 passengers (+0.5% compared to the previous year). A total of 135,798 passengers (+3.2%) traveled to Eastern Europe in January 2025. According to North America, the airport recorded 27,864 travelers (+11.4%) and according to Africa 26,803 (+21.9%). In January 2025, a total of 67,422 (+1.6%) and 53,016 passengers (+38.3%) traveled in the Middle East in January 2025.
The airport Vienna participations are also developing very well: at Malta Airport, the passenger volume rose to 507,574 travelers (+9.0%) in January 2025. At Kosice Airport, the passenger volume increased significantly to 38,675 travelers (+21.9%).
