22nd district: Cycle path closure in Donaustadtstrasse between Lange Allee and Lessiakgasse | City vienna

Vienna (OTS) A temporary cycle path is being built along Donaustadtstraße in the 22nd district between Lange Allee and Lessiakgasse. In addition, the roadway towards the city center will be replaced due to damage caused over time. The City of Vienna – Road Administration and Road Construction will begin work on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

A two-way cycle path is being built in three sections along Donaustadtstrasse with a total length of over 2.5 kilometers from the Donauzentrum to Stadlau. The first section between Neudeckenstrasse and Lange Allee has already been completed, the second section between Lessiakgasse and Wagramer Strasse is currently in progress.

Work is now also underway between Lange Allee and Lessiakgasse to close the gap in the cycle path network. A temporary cycle path will be set up between house number 31 and house number 37A on Donaustadtstrasse in the parking lane facing the city. After construction work has been completed in this section, a structurally separated cycle path will be created instead of the temporary cycle path, as in the other two sections.

Traffic measures

During the construction period, one of two lanes in the construction site area towards the city center will remain free.
