The lawsuit association was founded in spring 2004. The founding members included BIZEPS – Center for Self-Determined Living, HOSI Vienna and ZARA.
A plaintiff’s association is primarily intended to sue, and we are therefore pleased that there were groundbreaking lawsuits that we were able to conclude successfully. Be it against the ORF, the Wiener Linien, the city of Vienna or, most recently, the Ministry of Education.

Vienna (OTS) – The Klagsverband has been campaigning for the rights of those affected for two decades and has achieved many groundbreaking successes during this time. Today there is a celebration in Parliament.
Martin Ladstätter, chairman of BIZEPS and founding member of the Klagsverband, emphasizes the importance of this institution: “A plaintiff’s association is primarily intended to sue, and we are therefore pleased that there were groundbreaking lawsuits that we were able to conclude successfully. The first 20 years of the Klagsverband were quite exciting and often an eventful time. Politics was not always kind to the lawsuit association.”
BIZEPS is proud to have supported the Klagsverband since its beginnings. As members from the very beginning, it was always important to us to support the Klagsverband as best we could. Many of the litigation association’s lawsuits were made possible – due to a lack of sufficient budget – through financial guarantees from BIZEPS and its legal fund.
“We are glad that the Klagsverband exists. The support from BIZEPS was always aimed at strengthening the work of the Klagsverband,” emphasizes Martin Ladstätter.
Looking to the future is optimistic and determined. BIZEPS would like the Litigation Association to continue to have the energy and commitment to uncover and dismantle discrimination through numerous lawsuits. “In this way we can make progress together in equality policy,” says Martin Ladstätter.
