On September 28th and 29th, 2024, the city of Vienna and its forestry and agricultural operations are once again inviting you to the traditional wine hiking day. “The Vienna Wine Hiking Day is the perfect opportunity for an enjoyable hike through Vienna’s vineyards,” emphasizes Vienna’s Climate Councilor Jürgen Czernohorszky. “This year there are again four routes available for a wine walk. There will also be a sales stand with the city’s own organic products from the “Wiener Gusto” brand.
Hiking, tasting and enjoying the region
This year there are again four routes to choose from: The paths lead through the 16th, 19th, 21st and 23rd districts. As an alternative to the main routes, there is also the option of hiking on smaller sections. On both days you can explore Vienna’s wine landscape while hiking together. The paths are senior and child friendly. There are separate, specially marked routes for families traveling with strollers.
You decide on the route – all paths lead past winegrowers who offer their delicacies from the cellar and kitchen on both days from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Viennese Gusto stand at the Vienna Cobenzl winery
Vienna’s own organic brand “Wiener Gusto” is also there: you can sample various wild liver cheese rolls, but also wines from the Cobenzl winery.
