The anniversary exhibition “100 Years of Radio” in the Vienna Technical Museum provides a comprehensive look back at the development of radio in Austria. Starting with the early attempts of radio to its importance as an educational and information medium, it is dedicated to the eventful history of radio to its current role as a popular everyday companion. On an area of ​​more than 800 m², visitors discover the different influences that have shaped radio in Austria. This journey through time through radio history, which can not only be seen but also heard with 500 objects and numerous audio examples, was created in cooperation with the ORF, which made a number of exhibits available.

The presentation of the book “Austria’s radio history. From detector reception to streaming programs” instead of, which is published as a companion volume to the exhibition by Kral Verlag. The anniversary exhibition is expanded by the online exhibition of the Austrian Media Library of the Vienna Technical Museum, which offers in-depth knowledge and numerous tones from everyday life, politics and culture.
